On May 11, 2024, we held our 5th Annual Sarah's Great Giveaway, an event for which we collect donations of new and gently used clothing, household items, toys, games, books, small furniture and appliances, and more that are then made available to members of the community to take what they need--all for free.
This event was first held in August 2020 at the Professional Building with about 20 community members and 7 volunteers. Since then, we have increased participation exponentially with over 300 community members and 30+ volunteers in 2024. We partnered once again with Tendto Credit Union who collected donations from their staff as well as new items from the community. Jet 24/Fox 66/YourErie.com was also a huge contributor by promoting the event, encouraging the public to donate and even hosting a donation drive at their studios! UPMC Health Plan supported this event by providing bags with helpful information along with some goodies for attendees.
