JOB TITLE: SUPPORT STAFF
Job Status: Per Diem – Agency Wide
Qualifications : Bachelor's degree in related field; will consider H.S. diploma with experience working with children/adolescents.
Job Summary: Per Diem – On Call staff perform all the essential functions of a Clinical Care Staff and/or Behavior Counselor while on shift. This position provides behavioral and emotional support for students and clients by implementing behavioral incentive programs and by employing a variety of crisis prevention methods and techniques.
Work Hours: Per Diem support positions require the individual to work a minimum of 20 hours a month. In some cases, temporary assignments for a longer duration may be available. Per diem staff always have the ability to contact program supervisors to inquire about open shifts and respond to daily needs for immediate staffing. Position shifts and hours will vary depending upon the particular program. Flexible schedules.
JOB TITLE: CLINICAL CARE STAFF – Residential Treatment
Job Status: Full Time/Hourly
Qualifications : Bachelor's degree in related field; will consider H.S. diploma with experience working with children/adolescents.
Job Summary: This position provides direct care and supervision of children and adolescents, five to 18 years of age, in the Residential Treatment Program. This position conducts and coordinates daily group activities that are therapeutic, age appropriate, and support goals defined in treatment plans. Staff members are expected to practice the Sanctuary Commitments and utilize S.E.L.F in promoting daily living skills, positive social interactions with peers and adults, and non-aggressive problem solving.
Work Hours The Clinical Care Staff schedule is typically a combination of first and second shift hours. This position requires weekend and holiday work schedules.
JOB TITLE: BEHAVIOR COUNSELOR – Early Intervention
Job Status: Full Time/Hourly
Qualifications : Bachelor's degree in related field; will consider H.S. diploma with experience working with children/adolescents in school setting.
Job Summary: This position provides active, daily treatment and therapeutic strategies to clients in social skills, behavioral interactions, coping with emotions, autonomous intellectual creativity, and development of fine/gross motor skills via therapeutic recreational activities. This position also assists in academic educational basics in conjunction with home school based recommendations, individual behavioral counseling, and crisis intervention. Staff members are expected to practice the Sanctuary Commitments and utilize S.E.L.F during daily interaction but most importantly during Social Skills sessions and crisis intervention.
Work Hours: The Behavior Counselor schedule consists of daytime hours ranging between 7:30am -3:30pm or 9:00am – 5:00pm; Monday – Friday.
JOB TITLE: BEHAVIOR COUNSELOR – Alternative Education
Job Status: Full Time/Hourly, School Year Contract only
Qualifications : Bachelor's degree in related field; will consider H.S. diploma with experience working with children/adolescents in school setting.
Job Summary: This position is responsible for the behavioral aspects of treatment in an Alternative Education setting working with children/adolescents, 11-18 years of age, and completes a variety of duties and assignments that combine "hands-on" direct service and interfaces with public school personnel. This position works closely with the program supervisor, teachers, technical instructors, and program case manager/therapist to ensure effective, safe, and coordinated services for all students. Staff members are expected to practice the Sanctuary Commitments and utilize S.E.L.F during daily interaction but most importantly during Social Skills sessions and crisis intervention.
Work Hours: The Alternative Education Behavior Counselor is a School year 10 month contract position. Typical hours are Monday – Friday, 11:00am – 7:00pm.
JOB TITLE: THERAPIST
Job Status: Full Time/Salaried
Qualifications : Masters degree in clinical field, such as Social Work, Clinical Psychology or Counseling.
Job Summary: This position provides child-centered, family-focused individual, group, and family psychotherapy services for children/adolescents who have been diagnosed with serious emotional disturbances. This position provides crisis intervention and clinical support to the direct care staff. Therapists are trained in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy in conjunction with incorporating the Sanctuary principles and the components of S.E.L.F into treatment plans for the purpose of creating a safe, sanctuary environment.
Work Hours: Therapists employed with Sarah Reed Children's Center typically work a daytime M-F work schedule. Therapists are employed at each of Sarah Reed's sites and could work with age groups from 3-18 years of age.
JOB TITLE: CLINICAL INSTRUCTOR
Job Status: Full-Time/Hourly
Qualifications : Bachelor's degree in Education, with a current Pennsylvania Teaching Certificate. Special Education, Early Childhood or Elementary Education focus is required for some positions.
Job Summary: The Clinical Instructor develops, implements, and coordinates comprehensive educational instruction for students enrolled in Sarah Reed's Early Intervention, Alternative Education and Residential Treatment programs to meet individual educational needs and clinical management goals. The programs include but are not limited to, daily living/socialization skills, formal educational activities, relevant emotional, social and recreational activities designed to help the students develop and maintain optimum academic, mental, emotional/social, and physical functioning. Employees must demonstrate instructional and clinical skills to meet the diversified needs of student clients and provide them with activities for special treatment needs as reflected in the individual academic and therapeutic treatment plans in conjunction with the Sanctuary Model.
Work Hours: The Clinical Instructor schedule depends on the assigned program and generally consists of daytime hours ranging between 7:30am -3:30pm or 9:00am – 5:00pm; Monday – Friday. Teachers are also employed in the Career Alternative Education Program, where they work an 11:00am – 7:00pm schedule.
