Bayfront Alternative Education Program

The Bayfront Alternative Education Program is a collaboration between Erie’s Public Schools, Sarah A. Reed Children’s Center, and the Bayfront Maritime Center for students in grades 9-12.  The program is a blend of traditional academic curriculum combined with maritime hands-on educational projects and activities aligned with the PA Department of Education standards.  The program is structured around the foundations of the Sanctuary Model® and utilizes a psych-education curriculum to teach pro-social skills learning.  Therapeutic staff provide professional direction and support for the students and successfully work toward the goal of returning students to their home school within Erie’s Public Schools.

The Bayfront Alternative Education Program is located at the Bayfront Maritime Center at 40 Holland Street in Erie, PA.

Program hours are:
Monday through Friday 8:30 am until 2:50 pm.  The program runs during the school year.
